Top 30 hidden features of WhatsApp | What is Whats App secrets? | WhatsApp hidden features 2020-2021
In this article I will show you the Top 30 hidden features of WhatsApp or What is Whats App secrets? or WhatsApp hidden features 2020-2021 With over one billion active users, WhatsApp is one of the most common messaging apps. The app is constantly being updated with new functionality, and every few weeks we come across an interesting version. So, what are the most recent WhatsApp updates to be aware of?
If you use WhatsApp regularly for work or pleasure and are searching for ways to improve your chatting experience, here are some helpful Whatsapp Latest tips and tricks to consider.
1. Remove images and videos from WhatsApp groups from the gallery.
Most of us have little influence about what content is sent to our phones through WhatsApp groups, and having this content appear in your phone's gallery can be a major headache.
WhatsApp has also introduced the ability to mask media in the gallery from specific classes. To access the option, simply open a WhatsApp group and tap on the group name (as shown in the image). This approach can only mask new incoming media and will not erase any current WhatsApp photos from your gallery (you will have to delete them).
2. Use Fingerprint Lock to protect your WhatsApp account.
You can also use fingerprint unlock to protect your WhatsApp account. Only those with their fingers registered on their phones will be able to use WhatsApp in this manner. To do so, go to Settings >> Accounts >> Privacy >> Fingerprint Lock and scroll down to it.
Until you use the fingerprint unlock, keep in mind that if the fingerprint authentication fails, you won't be able to unlock with a pattern.
3. Prevent those people from seeing your story.
Stories are an excellent way to convey your feelings and can be very personal. You can prevent specific WhatsApp contacts from seeing your status updates or stories as they are now if you don't want to share them with anyone.
- Go to Settings>Account>Privacy in WhatsApp.
- Select Status>> ‘Except for my contacts'.
- Now tap the tick mark below to pick individual contacts you want to prevent.
If you only want to share status updates with a small group of people, you can choose the "Only share with" choice.
4. Read messages without attracting Blue Ticks' attention.
There are a variety of options if you want to read a WhatsApp message without the sender knowing.
- You can switch off blue ticks completely (Settings>>Account>>Privacy>> uncheck Read Receipts), but you won't be able to see if someone else has read your post.
- The message could be read from the notification screen. Simply tap and swipe down the update in the notification panel to extend it out and read several or long messages. This is something of a band-aid solution, since you'll eventually have to get rid of the warning for good.
- Alternatively, you can simply activate AirPlane mode, read the post, and then deactivate AirPlane mode. This allows you to read a specific message without disabling read receipts or informing the sender.
5. Once you've sent the post, delete it.
WhatsApp introduced this function in late 2017. You can now ‘unsend' messages that you have already sent on the App, but there is a catch. Only messages sent within the last 60 minutes are eligible for this feature.
If someone has already quoted your post, the delete message function will be made useless, even if you are still within the 7-minute time limit.
- Click and hold a message for a long time
- For anyone, choose Delete.
6. Read deleted messages on WhatsApp
There is a way to read messages that have been deleted by your peers. Simply install a notification log app and give permission to read notifications. This software will keep track of all incoming alerts and will be useful if you need to recover a notification that you mistakenly swiped away.
7. Automatically react to WhatsApp messages
There are some applications that you can use if you use WhatsApp for business and want to add an instant reply message to WhatsApp conversations. Auto Reply for WhatsApp is one app you should try.
We've written a separate article on how to do the same thing, which you can read here.
The Scheduler software for WhatsApp can be used to schedule WhatsApp messages for groups or individual contacts. You may fill in the appropriate fields and schedule your message after granting it Accessibility permission.
9. Delete photos or videos from a WhatsApp touch or party.
You can remove texts, conversations, images, and audio from a specific WhatsApp community or communication if it is taking up too much storage space.
- Go to Settings>> ‘Data and Storage usage’
- Select ‘Storage Use,' and all groups and contacts will be ranked according to how much storage space they are taking up.
- Select the group and go to the bottom of the page to the ‘manage messages' choice. Pick and clear any data you want to get rid of (videos, GIFs, Photos, and so on).
10. Show Off Your Live Location (Real Time)
You can now send your contacts a live spot. The location is updated in real-time, and you can keep track of specific contacts' exact whereabouts. You can share your position for 15 minutes, an hour, or an entire day.
- Simply tap the attachment icon in the text input field to do so.
- After that, go to ‘place' and then ‘Share Live Location.'
This is what you would do to limit the amount of data consumed by the app.
Go to the settings tab>> Use of Data and Storage
You can choose what types of media (photos, images, documents, and audio) the app can download when using your data from here.
12. Assign each notification a different priority and tone.
WhatsApp also supports 'Notification Channels,' an Android Oreo feature that allows you to prioritize various types of alerts from the same app.

You'll need Android Oreo support to use this feature. If you're using Android Oreo, simply go to the system details page (or long-press app notifications) and select the manage notification option.
